‘Truckdriver’ | 2012 – 2010

Blake traveled across the American Midwest, taking photographs of the vast landscapes, the unique truck-stops, and people along the way.  Once he collected the pictures together, he produced a series of fifteen original lithographs using them as source material to portray a lengthy narrative.  The fifteen prints are accompanied by a set of additional photographs.

The images portray the story of a young adult placed in a situation where they must assume another’s identity, specifically a semi-truck driver.  This fictional story is loosely based on Blake’s (and his companions’) own experiences while living in the Midwest.

The image, ‘Scene 1: “Fine… I’ll Do It.”‘ was selected for the 23rd Parkside National Small Print Exhibition
