Blake Peterson creates narrative based work that integrates photography & print media, video, performance, and sound to focus on transient episodes of time. These moments contain the multitude of possibilities, unencumbered by the restraints of causation. The tension between ideals and their actualization is never truly resolved. The future, the past, and the present exist simultaneously. Blake utilizes his personal narrative to explore constructions of the “self” and the experience of time, revealing contradictions of contemporary society.
By extrapolating from these narrative structures, larger themes can be processed, where the omission of information is as important as the story itself.
