Blake Peterson (b. Youngstown, OH, 1983) is an interdisciplinary artist with a printmaking focus.
Blake earned his MFA from Glasgow School of Art in June of 2012. Blake’s extensive body of work includes illustration, print media, and digital installation. His work is included in notable private collections, has been shown in contemporary art galleries, and has been featured in several group exhibitions in New York, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Glasgow, and Berlin, amongst others. One of his original lithographs is also included in the Glasgow School of Art’s permanent collection.
In 2005, Blake earned his BA in Psychology from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He later acquired a postgraduate certificate in Entrepreneurial Management from the University of Iowa. While living in Iowa, Blake began extensive study into printmaking. This exploration into print media led to the formation of the arts-based business, the Grocery. This organization produced prints, books, and functional artwork such as scarves.
Much of Blake’s work is also collaborative. He regularly works with fellow artist and printmaker, Zoe Phillips. Zoe earned her MFA in Printmaking from the San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) in 2012. She also was an influential co-creator for the Grocery. Blake and Zoe are also working on a new project, Bubble & Squeak, officially launching in 2015.
